Signup Haven Volunteer Reminders — SMS Opt-In

The short version
Signup Haven Volunteer Reminders sends optional text reminders for volunteer events you sign up for, plus optional fill-warning alerts for organizers. SMS is opt-in only — checking a box on a signup form, never automatic. Reply STOP to cancel, HELPfor help. Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per event). Msg & data rates may apply. We never share phone numbers with third parties for marketing.
The opt-in form your volunteers see
Every public event signup page on signuphaven.com embeds the form below. SMS is never collected without the volunteer (a) entering a phone number and (b) checking the consent box. Both fields are required to enroll. The checkbox is off by default.
See it in production: any active public event lists this form on its signup page. You can browse all currently-published events at signuphaven.com/discover and open any one of them to see the identical form embedded on the live signup page.
1. Program name
Signup Haven Volunteer Reminders — the SMS program operated by Signup Haven (signuphaven.com) for volunteer event reminders and organizer alerts.
2. Types of messages we send
If you opt in, you may receive the following text messages:
- Volunteer event reminders: a confirmation when you claim a slot, a reminder 48 hours before the event, and a reminder the morning of the event.
- Last-minute updates: messages from the event organizer if event details change (date, time, location).
- Organizer fill warnings (organizers only): a text when one of your events is 3 days away and still has open slots, so you can broadcast to your contact list.
We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party advertising messages. Phone numbers are used only to deliver these specific transactional messages.

Volunteer reminder:

Organizer fill warning:

4. Message frequency
Frequency varies by use. A volunteer who signs up for one event will typically receive 1–3 messages (confirmation, 48-hour reminder, day-of reminder). An organizer who has opted in to fill warnings will receive at most 1 SMS per event, only when the event is 3 days out and not yet fully staffed.
Most users receive fewer than 4 messages per month.
5. Message and data rates may apply
Message and data rates may apply.Signup Haven does not charge for SMS. However, your wireless carrier may charge standard message and data rates for messages you send and receive. Check with your carrier for details on your plan.
6. How to opt in
SMS is strictly opt-in. There is no path that enrolls a user in SMS without an explicit, affirmative action.
Volunteer opt-in (public signup pages)
When a volunteer claims a slot on a public event signup page (browse live examples at signuphaven.com/discover), they may optionally enter a phone number and check the SMS opt-in box. The opt-in form shown at the top of this page is the exact form embedded on every signup page — same labels, same disclosure text, same required checkbox.
Both the phone number AND the checkbox are required. The checkbox is unchecked by default. Leaving either blank means no SMS is sent. Phone numbers are never collected or used without explicit affirmative consent on this checkbox.
Organizer opt-in (account settings)
Organizers (logged-in users) can opt in to two separate SMS settings on their account page at signuphaven.com/account:
- "Send me SMS notifications" — for volunteer-side reminders the organizer signs up to receive when they claim slots on their own or other organizers' events.
- "Text me urgent fill warnings" — for the 3-days-out fill warning when an event still has open slots.
Each toggle is off by default and requires the organizer to (a) add a phone number, (b) be on a paid plan, and (c) explicitly check the box.
7. How to opt out
You can stop receiving messages at any time:
- Reply STOP to any message. We will send one final confirmation that your number has been opted out, and you will receive no further messages from Signup Haven Volunteer Reminders.
- Logged-in organizers can also turn off the SMS toggles on signuphaven.com/account at any time.
- Volunteers can email support@signuphaven.com with their phone number to be removed.
8. How to get help
Reply HELP to any message and we will respond with program info and our support contact. You can also email support@signuphaven.com at any time.
9. Supported carriers
SMS is delivered via Twilio on standard A2P 10DLC long codes. Service is available on all major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
10. Privacy
Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely to deliver the messages described above. We share phone numbers only with Twilio for delivery. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories — including contact information, name, email — exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

11. Changes to these terms
We may update these SMS Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated by email to organizers and posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
